What is the best way to store fresh herbs?Updated 10 hours ago
Nobody wants droopy dill. Keep your herbs in optimal condition with these tips:
Leafy herbs (such as coriander, parsley, dill) should be kept moist and cool but not cold. Place the herbs on a damp clean cloth or paper towel and roll them up. Place in a zip-lock bag and refrigerate. If the cloth dries out, we t it lightly again. This should keep your herbs fresh for two weeks!
Woody herbs (think: rosemary, thyme) can be placed on a clean, dry cloth. Roll up the cloth and store in a plastic bag in the fridge. Your herbs should stay fresh for 2–3 weeks.
Basil is one of the more delicate herbs. Store it in a few inches of water in a jar or a glass and keep out of direct sunlight. This should prevent the leaves from blackening (which can happen in a very cold fridge) and keep the basil fresh for two weeks.
